On Today’s Show:

We’re still recovering from the madness of our Black Friday – Cyber Monday weekend stuff but we’re excited to bring you another fun-filled episode this week!

Todd and James join me to discuss YOUR questions and talk about some other fun updates we have – such as our new metal beer signs for Patreon members! That’s right: if you’re in a recipe receiving tier of our Patreon community, you’ll be getting a sweet new metal sign sent with your next kit. It’s our way of saying “THANK YOU” for your support and we appreciate everyone in our community. You can learn more by visiting Patreon.com/HomebrewHappyHour where you’ll also see our recently announced recipe kits for December. Fun stuff so go check it out!

In this episode, we talk about how late is “too late” in regards to making beer to enjoy on Christmas day. We also have a question about giving the perfect gift to the homebrewer in your life. Another listener wrote in asking for our opinions on conical fermenters and what features should they be looking for and, finally, we discuss the point of double milling and why people who do “brew in a bag” (or BIAB) are double milling their grains.

We want to hear from you!

If you have a question that you’d like us to discuss on a future episode, please click on the “Submit a Question” link at the top of our website or you can now call in your questions via our questions hotline @ 325-305-6107 and leave your message after the beep. Todd is back and joins myself and Mr. James Carlson as we take YOUR questions this week and have a blast doing it. To be more specific, we talk about the challenges and/or differences between cleaning and caring for a larger brewing system (i.e – 15 gallon system vs a 5 gallon system), the shelf life of kegged beer at room temperature when it’s NOT carbonated, what to do if you keep missing your post boil gravity numbers, and we also talk about one of Todd’s most favorite subjects: routing keg maintenance. I’m not even kidding – he loves this stuff. I don’t get it.  😐

On Today’s Show:

Better late than never, right? Sorry for the day delay – I go over it a little at the top of the show but we had a crazy hectic week yet we’re still happy to be back in your ears or on your screen!

This week, Todd and James join me to take your homebrewing questions and discuss other mostly on-topic things. Specifically, we talk about the different methods of chilling (cooling down) your wort and how some pieces of gear may work better for you depending on your situation.

We also discuss a listener who is getting bad foam whenever he switches from his corny keg of homebrew over to a commercial keg of beer. He makes a point to tell us that flow control faucets aren’t really in his budget yet so we do our best to point him in the right direction!

Then, we take a question about what happens to beer that sits in the liquid lines for too long. Can it go stale? Could it cause off-flavors to arise or contaminate the beer?

Finally, we wrap up with a question asking if the BTF Iodophor stains on the listener’s gear is going to affect future batches of beer. You all know how much we love BTF Iodophor and that we use it all the time so we have a lot of experience with this!

We want to hear from you!
